SMS Terms & Consent

These SMS Terms describe how the Chief.Staff personal assistant platform (chief.mynewtons.com), operated by Ben Newton, sends text messages to users who have chosen to subscribe.

SMS notifications are voluntary. Consent to receive SMS messages is not required to use Chief.Staff or any other Newtonian Consulting, LLC service. Users who do not opt in to SMS continue to receive the service through other channels (email, in-product notifications, or direct contact from the operator). Users who opt in may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; opting out does not affect access to the service.

1. How Users Opt In

Users opt in to SMS notifications through one of the following paths:

  • Public opt-in form: Submitting name, email, mobile number, and explicit consent through the public form at https://newtonian.consulting/sms. The consent checkbox is unchecked by default; consent is recorded with timestamp, IP address, user agent, and the version of the consent language presented.
  • Direct onboarding: Receiving a private invitation from Ben Newton and providing the mobile phone number directly to the operator (via email or a secured onboarding form), with written confirmation of consent to receive SMS messages from the service.
  • Confirmation reply: Replying YES or START to the initial confirmation text sent to the provided number.

Phone numbers are never sourced from purchased lists or third parties. Consent records and mobile numbers are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

2. Types of Messages

After opting in, users may receive:

  • Daily intelligence briefs (morning digest)
  • Calendar and meeting alerts (urgent events, conflicts, travel reminders)
  • Habit and task reminders configured by the user
  • Severe weather alerts for the user's home location
  • Replies to inbound commands (e.g., DONE, SNOOZE, NEXT, BRIEF, LOG, HELP)

3. Message Frequency

Up to 20 messages per day, typically 3–8 per day. Frequency depends on the user's configured preferences and real-time events.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Carrier rates are determined by the user's mobile plan. Newtonian Consulting LLC does not charge a per-message fee.

5. Opt-Out and Help

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. You will receive a confirmation text and no further messages.
  • Reply HELP to receive contact information and assistance.

6. Privacy

Phone numbers and message content are stored only as needed to operate the service. Numbers are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Carriers

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
